1. Overview

ReceiptScan does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information on external servers. All data you enter or capture stays exclusively on your device.

This Privacy Policy describes how ReceiptScan ("the App", "we", "us") handles information in compliance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Apple's App Store privacy requirements.

ReceiptScan is operated by Maceze, an independent developer based in Canada.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

ReceiptScan is designed with privacy-first principles. We do not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any account information

• Receipt images or scanned text

• Financial data, amounts, or transaction history

• Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or fingerprints

• Location data

• Usage analytics or crash reports

• Any other personal information of any kind

No data ever leaves your device. There is no server, no database, and no cloud storage associated with this app.

3. Device Permissions

The App requests the following permissions solely to enable core features on your device:

• Camera: Used only to photograph receipts. Images are processed on-device using Apple's Vision framework for text recognition and are never uploaded or transmitted anywhere.

• Photo Library (Read): Used only to let you import existing receipt images from your photo library. Images are processed locally and not stored externally.

• Photo Library (Write): Used only if you choose to save a receipt image to your photos. No automatic saving occurs.

You can revoke any permission at any time in your iPhone's Settings app under ReceiptScan.

4. Local Data Storage

All receipt data, categories, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS secure local storage. This data:

• Is only accessible by the ReceiptScan app on your device

• Is never backed up to external servers by us

• May be included in your iCloud or iTunes device backups (controlled entirely by your personal Apple backup settings)

• Is permanently deleted when you uninstall the app or use the "Clear All Receipts" feature in Settings

5. No Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any information with third parties because we do not collect any information to share. The App contains:

• No advertising SDKs

• No analytics or tracking SDKs

• No social media integrations

• No third-party data processors

6. Data Export

The App provides a CSV export feature. When you choose to export your receipts, the file is generated locally on your device and shared using iOS's standard Share Sheet. You control where the exported file is sent. We do not receive or access any exported data.

7. Children's Privacy

ReceiptScan is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no personal information is collected by the App at all, there is no risk of children's data being collected or misused.

8. Your Rights Under PIPEDA

Under Canada's PIPEDA, you have the right to:

• Access: Know what personal information an organization holds about you. Since we hold none, there is nothing to request.

• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal information. All your data is on your device and editable directly within the App.

• Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw consent for the use of your personal information. You can revoke camera and photo permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information. You can delete all data from Settings → Clear All Receipts, or by uninstalling the App.

• Complaint: If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca.

9. Security

Since all data resides on your device, the security of your receipt data depends on your device's security settings (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). We encourage you to use a strong device passcode. We have no access to your device or data and therefore cannot be responsible for unauthorized access to your device.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
